Mission

The mission of the virtual resource center is education. 

Developing innovative programs and services for our students while providing information from various departments at UCF is the core component of our mission.  Working with groups who are closely allied with us on LGBT issues and reaching out to those not yet fully involved in our diverse community is a part of what we strive to accomplish. Academic programs at UCF provide opportunities for personal growth and education.  Interaction with other students, both in the academic arena and in social settings, strengthens students' skills and abilities.  We seek to provide all campus members with information to make life more pleasant on the UCF campus.

We also seek to assist prospective students, faculty and staff in making the important decision of joining the UCF family.  Information is provided  from various departments at UCF as well as from student groups concerned about diversity on our campus.  We are eager to assist you in achieving your academic goals as well as assisting you in learning about the social and cultural opportunities in Central Florida.  As you evaluate where you will attend school, we realize LGBT students, faculty and staff have additional considerations.  Is the campus inclusive and does it provide a safe environment?  Are faculty and staff members affirming and supportive of all people?

Vision

Bricks, mortar and glass are all part of the vision of the LGBT Resource Center at UCF.  We would like to provide a safe, inclusive place for students to "hang out" and feel accepted in every way.  We desire a place where thought-provoking events and discussions can take place among LGBT students and their allies in the straight community.  We look forward to the time when we have our own place on or near campus to welcome all people and to provide needed services to the LGBT community.
